Klaus Ambrosch was Austrian Champion in javelin throw (2005 and 2007) and decathlon (1998-99, and 2002). He was selected for the 2000 Sydney Olympics in decathlon and finished 18th scoring 7,917 points. In 2001, he could not finish the World Championships. In 2002, Ambrosch placed 12th in both the European indoor and outdoor Championships. His life partner was German long jumper Bianca Kappler.
