Wilhelm Arwe was a right winger who started out as a bandy player, but switched to ice hockey early in his career. He started out with Göta IK in 1919, switching to Djurgårdens IF in 1921, and staying with them throughout his career, which ended in 1931. He also represented Sweden at the 1921 and 1924 European Championships, helping them win gold in 1921. He won one Swedish title with Djurgården in 1926 and was capped 16 times internationally. Arwe came from a wealthy family, as his father was a significant landowner in Ölserud.
