Austrian Alpine skier Armin Assinger participated at the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics. He placed 15th in the downhill and 11th in the super G event. Assinger also participated at the 1993 World Championships and finished 14th in the downhill. He won a total of four World Cup races.
After his active career Assinger became a TV commentator and analyser on Alpine World Cup races. Since 1999 he also hosted TV entertainment shows such as Glück gehabt (Lucky), Domino Day and Good Morning Österreich with the Austrian TV channel ORF 1. From 2002 he presented the Austrian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. He was awarded the Austrian TV prize Golden Romy eight times. Occasionally, he also appeared in various crime series.
