Turkish skier Özer Ateşçi had a very brief career in the sport that saw him compete during the 1968 Alpine Ski World Cup season. After competing in various events at the start of the season Ateşçi had done enough to earn a spot on the Turkish Olympic team for the Grenoble Games, where he had his best result of 67th in the downhill event. Ateşçi also competed in the giant slalom, but failed to finish in his first run. He fared slightly better in the slalom, finishing both his runs, but being almost 20 seconds off the pace in his heats.
