Biography

Willi Blechschmidt was a Czechoslovak bobsledder of Sudeten German origin. Blechschmidt and Gustav Leubner competed in the two-man event at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics. The pair finished in 17th place. Blechschmidt also was part of the second team for Czechoslovakia that competed in the four-man event, which finished in 12th.

Like his father, he was an engineer by profession. His younger brother, Hans (born 1909) was also active in winter sports with WSV Marienbad.
