Biography

Giancarlo Bucchetti started playing ice hockey in the Italian league in 1940 before World War II interrupted his career. Bucchetti returned to the ice in 1947 for Diavoli Rossoneri Milano before joining HC Milano in 1950, winning four consecutive league titles from 1948 to 1951. For a decade his was also part of the Italian national team, including being selected to play at the 1948 St. Moritz Olympics. At the Games, however, he only played in three matches after he was ignominiously sent back home after violating a strict 10 pm curfew. Bucchetti won another league title in 1952–53 season and eventually retired in 1957.
