Between 1957 and 1967, Rudolf Čillík won nine national Czechoslovakian cross-country skiing titles: five in the 30 kilometers, three at 15 kilometers, and one in the 50 kilometers. He made his major international début at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics, where he was 30th in the 30 kilometers, 36th in the 15 kilometers, and did not start the 50 kilometers. His next stop was the 1962 World Championships, where he was 30th in the 15 kilometers, 31st in the 30 kilometers, and 11th in the 4x10 kilometer relay. At the 1966 edition, he was 23rd in the 50 kilometers. Following his retirement from active competition, he turned to training and was most notably the first coach of 1984 Olympic silver medal winner Gabriela Sekajová-Svobodová. He also took up numerous administrative roles in cross-country skiing.
