Biography

Italian speed skater Guido Citterio made his international début in 1949 at the European All-Round Championships in Davos before competing at the 1951 World All-Championships, also in Davos. In 1952 Citterio was selected to compete for Italy at the Oslo Olympics where he skated in the 500 and 1,500 metres. Following the Olympics he became the Italian all-round champion in both 1953 and 1954. Two years later Citterio competed at his home Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo where he once again skated in the 500 and 1,500 metres.

Personal Bests: 500 – 43.0 (1956); 1500 – 2:16.5 (1956); 5000 – 8:49.2 (1953); 10000 – 17:50.1 (1958).
