Ilio Colli was an Italian skier who won bronze in downhill at the 1951 Italian Championships. In 1952 he placed 10th at the Lauberhorn, and competed at the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympics, placing 18th in downhill.
During a downhill in Madesimo, on 21 February 1953, Colli, not yet 22-years-old, left the track at high-speed and crashed violently against a tree, fracturing his skull, and dying shortly thereafter. In his honor Cortina d’Ampezzo dedicated a new ski run to him on Monte Faloria (where the giant slalom was held during the 1956 Winter Olympics) and the local ski club remembers him annually with an international race.
