Raoul Couvert

Raoul Couvert competed as a member of the French ice hockey team at the 1924 and 1928 Winter Olympic Games. He also won a gold medal at the 1924 European Championships. With limited success, he also took part in the 1930 and 1931 World Championships and the 1926 and 1932 European Championships. Nationally, Couvert played for the Chamonix HC although he played the 1928/29 season in Switzerland with Servette HC.

Couvert was born to Jean-César Couvert, a gendarme chief of brigade, and Augusta Ernestine Couttet, who inherited a hotel built by her father. The couple created the Fin Bec Hotel-Restaurant, which later became the Lutetia Hotel.
