Long distance speed skater Frank Dittrich was a four-time Olympian (1992-2002) who did not manage to win an Olympic medal. In 1992, he closely missed the podium by finishing fourth over 5,000 metres, and in 1998 finished fifth. At World Championships, Dittrich won five bronze medals, and also won a bronze medal at the World Championships Allround at Nagano in 1997. Domestically, he won 13 national titles, as well as seven silvers and five bronzes.
Dittrich worked in sports marketing at Deutsche Kreditbank AG (DKB) from 2004 and became marketing officer for the German Speed Skating Association in 2006. He was a co-commentator for Eurosport at the Olympic speed skating competitions at Vancouver in 2010.
Personal Bests: 500 – 38.41 (2000); 1000 – 1:19.71 (1990); 1500 – 1:50.89 (2000); 5000 – 6:25.78 (2000); 10000 – 13:19.09 (2001).
