Heinrich Enea took up bobsleigh in 1940 with a club based in Sinaia. He won six national titles in the sport, three each in both the two-man and four-man events and spent most of his career with the CCA (Casa Centrală a Armatei) Star club from 1952 to 1965. Selected to compete at the 1956 Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo, he was the pilot of the Romania 1 sled crew alongside Dumitru Peteu, Nicolae Moiceanu, and Mărgărit Blăgescu, finishing 14th, six places ahead of the second Romanian sled entered in the event. He also formed a crew with Blăgescu in the two-man event, also finishing 14th.
Enea also competed in the World Cup in 1961 and 1963. Awarded the title of master of sports, he took up coaching while still actively competing in 1955, later becoming the coach of the bobsled section of the Steaua Club in București from 1965 to 1977.
