During the 1950s Swiss sportsman Rolf Gerber competed in the bobsleigh for his country. At the 1955 World Championships in St. Moritz he won silver in the four-man event along with compatriots Fritz Feierabend, Abi Gartmann, and Harry Warburton. This earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1956 Cortina d’Ampezzo Games in Italy. Gerber competed in the second Swiss sled at the Games, which finished just outside of the medals in fourth.
