Carlo Gerosa

Originally from Scanzorosciate, Carlo Gerosa was a specialist in the slalom. After obtaining great results with the National B team, he made his international début at the 1982 Junior World Championships. Later that summer he was injured in a car accident in New Zealand that cost the lives of four members of the Italian national ski team, including the Olympian athlete Bruno Nöckler and coach Ilario Pegorari.

Gerosa was a member of the national team from 1984-95. In his career he completed 30 World Cup races in the top 30, with three fifth place finishes as his best results. Gerosa competed at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics and the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. After leaving the World Cup circuit in February 1995, he continued to compete in minor circuits until retiring in April 1996. Gerosa then worked as a television commentator for Telemontecarlo alongside Bruno Gattai and Andrea Prandi, later for the Mediaset networks alongside Guido Meda.
