Biography
Dumitru Gheorghiu was a Romanian bobsledder. Gheorghiu was part of the four-man bobsleigh team that won the silver medal at the 1934 FIBT World Championships. Gheorghiu and Alexandru Budișteanu competed in the two-man bobsleigh at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics. The pair finished in 16th place. Gheorghiu was also scheduled to compete in the four-man bobsleigh but the Romanian team did not start the event.
