Biography
Walter Gilik competed as a bobsledder in the four-man event at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics and came in fifth with the bob West Germany II. In 1976 Gilik was a member of the four-man bob that won the European Championships. He never won a West German national title, but later regularly participated in senior bobsleigh tournaments.
