Biography

Adriano Guarnieri was an Italian alpine skier. Active in the 1930s, he was an undergraduate when he won the Littoriali dello Sport, a sort of national university championships in the years of fascism. With this result, he was appointed to be Italy’s flagbearer at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where he competed only in the combined and reached 17th place overall. Domestically he won three medals in the slalom: silver in 1935, defeated by Olympian Vittorio Chierroni, and bronze in 1933 and 1934.
