Biography

Thomas Hauser was an Austrian alpine skier who specialised in slalom and giant slalom events. He competed at the 1976 Innsbruck Winter Olympics but could not finish the giant slalom as he had a fall on the first run. His sisters Brigitte and Gabi were also successful national alpine skiers.

Hauser won Austrian national titles in slalom (1972) and giant slalom in 1970 and 1974-75. In 1977 he retired from skiing to take over the family woodwork production company due to his father’s ill-health.
