A two-time Olympian, John Hearn appeared in the 1952 World Championships, and between 1953-60 represented Great Britain four times at the European Championships, with a 12th place finish in 1953 being his best result. In December 1957, Hearn won the 500 and 1500 metre races at a prestigious International event at Lillehammer. He retired in 1967, shortly after setting four National Masters 35+ records at Innsbruck.
Personal Bests: 500 – 45.9 (1956); 1500 – 2:17.5 (1956); 5000 – 8:21.4 (1956); 10000 – 17:27.6 (1956).
