Biography

Helmut Höflehner was an Austria alpine ski speed specialist in downhill events. He participated at the 1984 Sarajevo and 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. At Sarajevo he came fifth but at Albertville finished a disappointing 17th. At World Championships he also failed to win a medal.

Höflehner won ten downhill world cup races and two Austrian national titles (1984, 1993). In 1985 and 1990 he won the overall downhill world cup. He later ran two chairlifts (“Höfi-Express”) in the Hauser Kaibling ski area.
