Biography

West German luger Stefan Hölzlwimmer paired with Hans Wimmer in the doubles and finished 11th at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. Four years at Innsbruck later he came in an unfortunate fourth with Rudi Größwang. In the men’s singles Hölzlwimmer failed to finish at Innsbruck. Alongside Größwang he claimed his only West German title in 1978. One year earlier he and Größwang won the bronze medal at the Europeans.
