Fritz Koch, father of Martin Koch, was an Austrian ski jumper and Nordic combined practitioner who participated in the 1976 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. He finished 26th in the individual Nordic combined.
Domestically, Koch won five national Nordic combined titles. He later became a sports teacher and ski jumping coach. His brother Heinz Koch was also a well-known ski jumper and later a successful international coach with the national teams of Austria, Czech Republic, Slovenia, France, China and Germany. Fritz became the brother-in-law of Armin Kogler after marrying his sister.
