Biography
A native of Baia Mare, Andrei Covaci started skiing at the Borşa ski area in the Carpathian Mountains. Specializing in downhill skiing, he was named to the 1952 Romanian ski team and competed in the slalom event at Oslo, placing 77th after being disqualified in his second run. He was a miner by profession until his retirement.
