Biography

Austrian ice hockey centre Sepp Kriechbaum played with Austria at the 1976 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. The team was eliminated in the group stage and placed eighth as second in the consolation round. Kriechbaum won 44 international caps, scoring ten goals and eight assists.

Domestically he played with EK Zell am See (1969-70, 1971-72), Grazer AK (1970-71), HC Salzburg (1972-77) and Kapfenberger SV (1977-80). He played 11 seasons in the Austrian Bundesliga and scored 111 goals in 287 games.

Kriechbaum later turned to coaching youth teams at Salzburg and Zell am See. Professionally he worked over 30 years as a teacher of accounting and business administration in Zell am See.
