Fritz Kraatz was a left winger who played for HC Davos from 1921-33, usually wearing eyeglasses, although he switched to defense in the 30s. He competed for them at the Spengler Cup from 1927-33, helping them win the title in 1927 and 1933 and place second in 1930. He also helped the side to Swiss Championships in 1926-27 and 1929-33. Kraatz played at the European Championships in 1925-26 and 1929, winning a gold medal in 1926 and a bronze medal in 1925. He also won a bronze medal with Switzerland in his only appearance at the World Championships in 1930. Kraatz later went into sports administration, first working briefly as a referee, but eventually serving as President of the Ligue Internationale de Hockey sur Glace (LIHG), the forerunner of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), in 1947-48, and 1951-54. Kraatz was a medical doctor.
