Biography

East German ski jumper Veit Kührt from Zella-Mehlis competed at the 1960 Squaw Valley Winter Olympics, placing 12th in the normal hill competition. The same year he was East German national champion, repeating in 1964. At the 1962 Worlds he was sixth in the normal hill and twelfth in the large hill event, and in 1966 he finished fifth and ninth, respectively. In 1968 he claimed his last national title in the team event.
