Émile Bonhours competed professionally from 1894-1913, mostly in motor-paced events, although he also raced on the roads. Bonhours was a four-time French Champion in the professional motor-paced event, winning in 1897-98 and 1900 and 1902. At the World Championships, he placed second in 1902 and third in 1900. His biggest title, however, was likely his win in 1900 at Paris-Roubaix. Bonhours twice rode the Tour de France, in 1905 and 1913, not placing in his first attempt and abandoning in 1913.
