Although he was Swiss, Michel Frédérick raced primarily in France, although in 1900-01 he competed in some six-days in New York and Boston, placing fifth at Madison Square Garden in 1900. Frédérick was primarily a long-distance road rider, placing third at Paris-Roubaix in 1897, and second at Bordeaux-Paris and Paris-Rennes in 1902.
