Fritz Ryser first came to prominence in 1899 when he was Swiss Champion on the roads and on the track in the motor-paced event. He later won the World Championship in the 1908 motor-paced event. Ryser raced in some six-day events, both in North American and Berlin, his best known finish being fourth at the 1900 event at Madison Square Garden in New York.
