A two-time Olympian in 2000 and 2004, Susan Bugliarello was a right-handed pitcher whose first club team was Nettuno Softball and her first coach was her father. After joining Club Vismap Macerata, where she was coached by Enrico Obletter, she won five Italian titles (1998-2001, 2004). While competing at the 1998 World Championships held in Japan, Bugliarello set a strikeout record.
