Marta Gambella was a former Italian right-handed second baseman in softball. Playing with Macerata Softball throughout her career, she won five Italian championships (1998-2001, 2004) and four Champions League titles (1999-2001, 2006). Gambella earned 238 international caps. Captaining the Azzurro for many years, she competed at seven European Championships, winning them all, five World Championships, and the 2000 and 2004 Olympics.
Gambella graduated from the Higher Institute of Physical Education and became an athletic trainer. She was coach of the junior national team for two years and then became coach of Macerata. In November 2019 Gambella was inducted into the Italian Baseball / Softball Hall of Fame.
