Verusca Paternoster was an Italian softball player. A left-handed centerfielder, she won two national championships (1996-97) and, with the national team, competed at the 1996 World Championship (sixth place). She won two European Championships (1995 and 1999), competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and was internationally capped over 100 times. Also fond of horse riding and tennis, Paternoster quit competitive softball due to physical problems in the early 2000s.
