Jari Laukkanen was a cross-country skier who ran the relay with the Finnish team at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. Laukkanen competed in World Cup events from 1983-89, with one podium finish, a relay silver in March 1997 at Oslo. He was 21st overall in the 1986/87 seasonal World Cup standings. Laukkanen competed at the 1987 and 1989 World Championships, with a best individual finish of ninth in the 15 km in 1987 at Oberstdorf.
