When he was just 12-years-old Klas Lindström joined the AIK sports club in Solna, Sweden in 1933 where he played both football and ice hockey. Lindström was more at home on the ice, with him staying at the club until 1939 when he joined Matteuspojkarna. He returned to AIK in 1943 and won back-to-back Swedish championships in 1946 and 1947. In his final years with the club he also represented the national team at the 1948 St. Moritz Olympics where Sweden finished fourth.
Lindström retired from ice hockey in 1949 before making a very brief comeback with Grums IK for the 1951–52 season. As a footballer he also played in five matches for AIK in 1946. From 1949 to 1954 Lindström worked as a dentist before becoming a doctor. He specialised in ear, nose, and throat, working in the medical profession until 1995.
