Biography
Amadou Barry founded the Senegalese Olympic Committee in 1961 and served as its first President. He was a former director of the Senegal Railway and later was Deputy Mayor of the commune of the Île de Gorée in Dakar. He was also President of the Finance Commission and the Economic Affairs Committee in the Senegal National Assembly. Barry became an IOC Member in October 1965 and served until his death in March 1969.
