Giorgio Guglielmi had many sporting interests, but particularly so in equestrian sport. He was President of the Rome International Horse Show and of the Villa Glori and Capanelle Riding Societies, and was also President of the Canotteri Rowing club, the Parioli Tennis Club and the Lazio Athletics Society, in addition to being a leading member of the Italian Yacht Club. Guglielmi was a State Senator. He was co-opted onto the IOC in March 1919, resigning in May 1930. During his tenure he attended only 1 of 11 IOC Sessions.
