Kalle Tuppurainen became a policeman in the Kuopio county. His second place with the military ski patrol from Finland at the 1928 Olympics was his greatest sporting achievement. He was also a reserve or maybe even a member of the team that won the event at the 1929 World Championships. In 1938, he competed at the World Championships but could only finish 51st in 50 km cross-country.
