Enrico Simen began his curling career by winning back-to-back junior titles at the Swiss championships in 1980 and 1981. During this time Simen also competed at the World Junior Curling Championships, placing seventh in 1980 and sixth a year later, before finishing fifth in 1982. At the 1988 Calgary Olympics curling was contested as a demonstration sport, with the Swiss team finishing second after losing to Norway in the final of the tournament. Simen competed for several more years, winning silver at both the Swiss men’s championships and the European Championships in 1994.
