Biography

Of the 12 styles of basque pelota, Aarón Sehter played six of them at the international level, the only person to do so, and won a record 13 titles at the World Championships, with his first coming on his début in 1952, when he was only 18 years old. His last, meanwhile, came thirty years later in 1982. During that time, he also won five national championships and seven South American championships, and took part in three events when the sport was a demonstration event at the 1968 Mexico City Games, finishing runner-up in two of them. Among his many personal awards, he received the Platinum Konex Award in 1980 for his services to sport and Argentine culture.
