Edgardo Martín

Water skiing made its only appearance at the Olympics as a demonstration sport at the 1972 München Games. The level of competition was quite high, with most of the world’s top skiers present for the three disciplines; slalom, tricks, and jumping. Argentine’s sole representative was Edgardo Martín, the first water skier from the country to shine internationally. Martín competed in the tricks event, finishing in seventh place with 3,720 points.
