Max Lord played for the Melbourne club as a catcher in the 1950s. He was from Victoria but represented the Western Australia State Team from 1954-56 and 1958, although he played in the Claxton Shield for Victoria from 1950-59. Lord was Claxton Shield MVP for Victoria in 1954 and 1956. He was on the Australian National Team from 1954-56, and played in the Australian Olympic demonstration game.
