French sportsman Daniel Mutuberria competed in Basque pelota during the 1980s and 1990s. Mutuberria reached 12 finals in the Basque Country League, was a five-time French champion, and became a two-time world champion. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics Basque pelota was played as a demonstration sport, with Mutuberria being part of the French team that finished second to Spain in the men’s doubles played on the 36 metres frontón court.
