Kichiro Takeno was an outfielder for the Japanese Students Team, He played at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics demonstration baseball tournament while he was a student at Komazawa University. He later had a six-year career in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), playing with the Hiroshima Carp from 1966-71.
