Biography

Wang Kuang-Huei was a Taiwanese baseball player who represented Brother Elephants in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Wang made his first international appearance for Chinese Taipei at the 1981 World Junior Baseball Championship in Ohio. He then played at multiple international tournaments including the 1986 Baseball World Cup, the 1987 Asian Baseball Championship, and the 1988 Seoul Olympics where baseball was a demonstration sport. Ten years later at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok he won a team bronze. In 2001 Wang became the third player to make 1,000 career hits in the CPBL, spending 15 years with the team. After his retirement in 2004 he then became the coach and manager of the Elephants. His cousin Huang Chung-Yi was also a noted baseball player.
