Carsten Bresser was a German mountain biker who finished eighth at the 2000 Sydney Games, and 20th four years later at Athens, in the cross-country events. In 1997 he was German national champion and in 2001 and 2002 Bresser won the overall German mountain bike Bundesliga. He also rode marathon mountain bike races and won the 2002 and 2003 Bike Transalp.
Between 2000 and 2004 Bresser also rode several road races in Germany. Later he turned to marathon running with a personal best of 2-14:18. By profession, Bresser became a joint managing director at a precision engineering company.
