Helmut Hediger was an Austrian flatwater canoer participating in the 1968 Mexico City and 1972 München Olympics. He came seventh with the kayak fours in 1968 and partnered Günther Pfaff in the kayak doubles over 1,000 metres in 1972, when they also finished seventh.
Hediger won two medals at international competitions: bronze at the 1967 European Championships over 10,000 metres in the kayak fours, and silver at the 1966 World Championships over 1,000 metres, again with the kayak fours.
