Biography

Austrian flatwater canoeist Walter Waldner participated in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. He partnered Otto Schindler in the Canadian doubles and finished sixth over 1,000 metres and eighth over 10,000 metres. Waldner emigrated to Australia in the late 1960s and joined the Mitta Mitta Canoe Club at Albury, New South Wales. His children Diana and Bob also became canoeists.
