Biography

Louis Delapchier was an important French sculptor working at the height of the Art Nouveau era. He specialized in producing figurative works often representing the feminine form in various attitudes in flowing forms using the lost-wax process. His ceramics are also worth mentioning. Delpachier was a member of the Salon des Artistes français. One of his famous figures is the 62 cm high Lanceur de poids (Shot Putter). He also produced some ornithological books including his own illustrations.
