Paris-born painter, interior decorator and carpet designer Henri Pinguenet mainly painted female nudes and landscapes. During the 1930s he worked for Galerie Lafayette designing carpet patterns. Pinguenet exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, the Salon d’Automne and the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Rugby, la passe is a pastel from 1931 and confirmed to be one of the submitted works.
