Born as Phyllis Harvey-George, she had also been a scholar at the R.C.A. like her husband John Platt, whom she married in 1911. Their son Michael, born in 1914, excelled as painter, potter and art teacher. She died unexpectedly only a few years after her participation at the London Olympics, where she submitted a textile design.
